Thara Patong has all the comfort and services of the self contained resort with out the closed in feeling. Guest Friendly and also open to families....Occasional Guests see that they are in a Very Good hotel a keep a low profile....

The complementary breakfast buffet is TOO big....can keep from over eating food that is normally taboo.... Needs more non smoking areas. I'm from the U.S. and a state the has very progressive non somking laws and doesn't like smokers near me while eat.i

Great Location on Beach Road with the Main Elevated Arch Entrance on Soi Sea Pearl side road...
Lots of options for rooms from budget to pool terrace single one and two bedrooms. The new wing houses the health spa with enough work out machines to keep you toned. I go for the new wing pool terrace single room but all the rooms are very good Thara Patong rooms are very quiet at night.
Boardered by Soi Seapearl on the side and Beach Road there is good access and a car park. Well stocked Mini Mart with good prices sits on the Beach Road side. Has 4 bars. My favorite is a lovely sitting bar adjacent to the lobby with current newspapers and magazines.....
A pool bar with food service in the new wing area for the new wing area. The newly renovated orginal Thara Patong and the original pool has an adjacent bar which offers food prepared by the hotels resturant. Both pool and the Thara Patong are kid friendly.Open for lunch thru dinner is the Tantawan with a bar that sits on right on beachroad for some great people watching. There is a fun little Deli near the bar that will make some great hot or cold snacks. Icecream on a hot Patong day is right there because the Thara Patong is home to Baskin Robbins. All the great Basking Robbins flavors with some Thai Flavors added to the menu. For coffee nuts next to Baskin Robbins is an espresso Bar with a big real espresso machine....
Breakfast is included... There is a tour desk for help in that department....?Standard prices and guaranteed that you'll get what is in the brochure! In rooms safes in the new wing and boxes at the front desk great security!

Myself and a few friends stayed at the Thara Patong hotel in April and we had £200 worth of clothes and goods stolen by their staff. The management there didnt lift a finger to do anything about it...and this is supposed to be a respectable, classy hotel. Not from what we experienced.
We stayed in the old wing and filed a report to the men in brown although we were told by the manager their that it would be of little use (he was right). The manager suspected the cleaner of the room and would try to get the truth told but he suddenly disappeared and never got back to us. We were going to stay another couple of weeks as well but after the hotels carefree attitude to what had happened we decided to move hotel. It is probably more a rarity than a common thing to happen at the Thara Patong but other things happened there that put us off which I havent mentioned. These included a toilet that overflowed when flushed and spewed out sewerage all over our hotel room (this took 3 days before we were moved rooms and the hotel was only half full). They also tried to charge us a few thousand baht for use of the minibar (even though we never touched it). Semi-guest friendly they were but friendly to its own customers we werent so sure when we left.
