There are literally hundreds of accommodation choices in and around Pattaya.

As a general rule you can get a clean room in a good area with air conditioning for around 1000 baht. The five star hotels tend to be less guest friendly and have rooms starting from around 2500 baht. For those on a budget, small clean backpacker type accommodation can be had for as little as 195 baht.

I would recommend you stay in Pattaya if you want to enjoy the nightlife. Jomtien Beach, although only a few kilometers away, is a hassle to get to and from at night and there is very little activity there in the evening. If you are here with the wife and kids then you will find the family atmosphere at Jomtien to your liking. If you want to spend some time at the beach it is easy to get a baht bus to Jomtien during the day and it will set you back about 10 baht. At night time there is no regular service and drivers often want 100 baht, if you can find one.
